Teddy Bears and Popcorn, Oh My!

Today we had our first parent volunteer day. Each month I dedicate a Wednesday to have a few moms come in to do a cooking project and a craft project that goes along with our unit of study. The moms prepare and bring in their own activity and materials, and it's fun to see what they come up with!

This week, we are learning all about our five senses. Mrs. Goldman was in charge of today's five senses craft. Look how cute this is....

I loved this craft, it was so cute! The children learned about their senses with this fun project. A coffee bean for teddy's nose, sandpaper for his paws, and cinnamon gum for his little tongue! They loved tasting the spice of the cinnamon and smelling the yummy coffee bean!

Mrs. Carter was in charge of the cooking project, and brought in an air popper to pop popcorn! The kids were able to hear the pop and see the popcorn popping. They also had a popcorn tasting!

The children were then directed to do a writing activity that explained how the popcorn smelled, tasted, etc.

What fun we had today! Thank you to Mrs. Goldman and Mrs. Carter for your time and creativity!
